In the wake of numerous reports about Twitter’s plan of changing how it will display tweets on users’ timeline, the company’s CEO, Jack Dorsey, has personally reassured its users that they are not going to switch to an algorithm-based timeline next week.
In a series of Tweets, Dorsey said that they “never planned to reorder timelines next week”. He also reiterates the company’s core identity as the go-to-site for anything live. As such, he stated that their striving to keep it that way whilst looking for means to further improve their service.
This, however, doesn’t mean that algorithmic timeline is already out of the question. We still think that this new format of sorting out tweets, if it ever materializes, can work as long as Twitter will still provide users with an option to revert back to the old timeline.
