Catchy and straight to the point, Snapchat users will soon be able to share where they are with friends with the new Snap Map feature. To access it, just zoom out from the default camera mode and the map will appear. This feature is not switched on by default though. You have to turn it on to be located on Snap Map. You can also select which of your friends would be able to see your location. You can also opt to share it with no one using “ghost mode.”
Snap Map- Share your Location with Snapchat
Snapchat notes that users’ locations will only be updated when users open the app, to prevent the worry of background tracking. Also, if a user has not opened the app for several hours their icon is removed from the map. The feature also shares where some snaps on the “Our Story” feature come from. There are also heat zones to represent areas where plenty of snaps are being taken.
Snap Map is just the latest in the recent list of features Snapchat has rolled out. Recent features include “Limitless” snaps, looping videos, and a magic eraser. Expect the Snap Map feature to roll out soon through updates on the mobile app on Android and iOS.
