Android users may now pre-register to join the initial release for HQ Trivia, one of the hottest new ‘games’ built by the creators of Vine.
HQ Trivia, initially released on iOS, rides the thin line separating ‘gaming app’ and ‘livestreaming app’. Why? Because the trivia game happens during a live-stream. Only then can players participate for the game itself, and even win prizes. All prizes are distributed via PayPal.
HQ originally opened up pre-registration on December 24. On top of this, they also claimed that the Android version will release on Christmas. However, it turns out that they meant the release to be a limited beta. Currently, the plan involves a release date for all on January 1, 2018. However, we’ll have to see if it will only be available for North America, or if the rest of the world can join in the trivia fun.
As a side note, I personally tried pre-registering for the app’s release, and it went through without any problems. If you’d like to try pre-registering yourself, visit the Google Play Store page.
Currently, HQ hosts live games every day at 6pm Pacific Time (PT) and weekdays at 12pm PT.
