While Cortana continues to gain more email intelligence, Microsoft has yet to integrate it directly onto the mobile version of Outlook. In a report from the The Verge, however, Microsoft apparently began testing Outlook integration for Cortana on iOS and Android.
Outlook integration for Cortana
Users can listen to and respond to emails with their voice through the Cortana integration. This helps lessen the risk of using one’s phone during car rides. In fact, Microsoft also wants Outlook mobile integration such that it works with Bluetooth and reads messages aloud. Users can simply say “what’s my email,” or access messages from contacts they choose.
For now, testing remains internal within Microsoft only. Should feedback be positive, however, it could end up in beta and public releases for iOS and Android versions of Outlook.
