Do you remember the Xplay5, the smartphone that we’ve featured here a week ago that will allegedly have a whopping 6GB of RAM? Well, it finally made its official debut, making it the first smartphone on the face of the earth to have that much RAM.
As we mentioned in the previous post, vivo has a habit of claiming ‘world’s first” titles to make a statement in the tightly-contested smartphone industry. They’ve done it to some degree in the past with the Xplay3S, the smartphones with a display with 1440p screen resolution, and the and X3S which once held the title for being the thinnest smartphone in the world.
Going back to the new vivo Xplay5 Elite, the handset has more to offer than its 6GB RAM. It’s top of the line internal components, which include a Snapdragon 820 processor, 128GB storage (non-expandable), and a fingerprint scanner, are encased in a stylish chassis that’s undeniably inspired by the newer models of the Apple iPhone.
Meanwhile, at the front is a curved 5.43-inch Super AMOLED display with 1440p resolution which looks strikingly similar to the screen of Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
