Go ahead, try it! Apparently, there’s a hidden feature of Facebook Messenger that let’s you have a chess game with your Facebook friends. You can activate the game by typing “@fbchess play” (not including the quotations) into a message. A chessboard would then pop up onscreen, and then you can let the games begin!
The game works on mobile and even on your PC. However, it doesn’t work by touchscreen or drag-and-drop, so you’ll have to type in a set of commands to make your moves. For example, if you wish to move your piece to G4, you’ll have to type “@fbchess g4”.
Type “@fbchess help” and you’ll get the full list of commands including how to undo a move and even how to give-up. Pretty useful if you’re like me who often loses.
