Facebook is finally rolling out its much-awaited Dark Mode feature to its services, and the first to get it is the Messenger app on Android and iOS.
The Dark Mode turns your Messenger into a true OLED black theme, which helps in saving your device’s battery life. However, this feature is not easily accessible, and you may need to do some tricks to activate it. Here’s how:
1. Make sure that you have the latest version of the Messenger app. If not, go to the App Store (iOS) or the Play Store (Android) and install Messenger’s most up-to-date version.
2. Go to “Chats” and message someone (literally anyone) with a crescent moon emoji (?) . Once you’ve sent the emoji, it will rain moon your screen. This indicates that the Dark Mode is already activated on your app. For some, a notification will also pop up to inform them that the feature is now available on their device.
3. Go to your profile page in the Messenger app, where you will find there the Dark Mode settings. Simply toggle on to enable the feature.
Go try it out if you haven’t yet!
