Software
We’ve been impressed by the subtlety of the software customizations that Starmobile does on its devices. The company’s software tweak is just enough to differentiate the look of the user interface from other Android devices, but not too aggressive which often does more harm than good.
Starmobile also did a good job of making sure not to clutter the Engage 7i’s 16GB inbuilt storage by pre-installing a lot of apps out of the box. The local company kept the pre-loaded app to a minimum, which only included some of their own apps like Starmobile Sync 2.0, Starmobile Care, and Starmobile App Store, as well as a few third-party apps on the side such as Clean Master.
Camera
Similar to the other low-cost tablets that we’ve featured here in the past, the Engage 7i’s cameras aren’t capable of producing sharp and vivid photos even with sufficient ambient light. At best, the image quality is just enough for social media use and basic photography needs.
