Unlike calls usually made on 2G and 3G networks, VoLTE uses 4G LTE connectivity to send and receive voice data. This allows the VoLTE to give users static free calls and a “Fast Call Setup” that removes the wait time when making a call. The use of the 4G LTE connectivty also ensure better sound quality on top of the other benefits.
A hindrance for this technology like this however is that mostly high end phones are capable of it. But, the Starmobile FeatureSmart Evo 1 is a feature phone that will be significantly more affordable than a high end smartphone. As of right now, the service and device have only been showcased but will be made available soon.
