Samsung Bixby 2.0
Bixby, Samsung’s very own virtual assistant, launched with the Galaxy S8 and S8+. Like every virtual assistant, Samsung introduced Bixby to enhance user experience on smartphones and apps. More and more devices apart from smartphones can connect to the internet now. Hence, it only makes sense for the tech giant to introduce AI to their Internet of Things (IoT) platform.
Compatibility
Samsung intends to bring Bixby 2.0, the AI’s next iteration, to any and all devices. The cloud-based virtual assistant can act as a control hub for an ecosystem of devices, including but not limited to mobile phones, home speakers, TVs, refrigerators, and just about every smart device.
Customizability
One of the most notable tidbits in Samsung’s announcement was that the virtual assistant will be an open platform. Depending on their services or applications, developers can freely tweak the software as they see fit.
Only a select few developers can access Bixby’s first private beta program, Samsung also announced. However, more updates on features remain to be seen.
