Opt creates elegant, high-quality, protective casing for different Apple products. The brand is fairly new here in the Philippines but their popular casing, the Armor Case for the iPhone and iPad is already available locally.
What we have here is the red Opt Armor Case for the iPad. Upon touch we could really feel the high-quality material that was used here. The rich red version has a reptilian-skin texture which makes it more grip-friendly. It also has a thin profile which I would suggest an iPad user should go for. It’s thin yet it won’t cover the necessary ports and buttons of your iPad.
The rounded corner is a nice touch to prevent fraying compared to those with squared corners. It’s a good protection from corner bumps as well.
The inside is lined with microfiber which guards your screen from scratches and also doubles as a screen cleaner.
What’s unique about the Opt iPad Armor Case is that you can detach the cover by sliding it out off its holder at the back. This is really ingenious. I would always complain how bulky it is to hold when you have the lid flipped all the way back if you want to read books or show your iPad to a friend.
You can also reverse the cover so you can use it to prop your iPad when you’re watching a video. This orientation is not going to be as sturdy as other iPad cases that you can type on it extensively while using the cover as a stand.
If you’re going to type on the iPad for a duration, you can pull the cover slightly off its holder before folding it all the way back to get a 10-12 degree tilt.
According to the local distributor of this Opt Armor Case, only the red, white and black colors are available at the moment. The black has two versions, one is the iguana skin and the other one is the less textured carbon-fiber design which I personally like.
The Opt Armor Case is priced at Php1760 which is well below the typical Php2k price of other iPad case of more popular brands. You can get them at The A. Shop stores, Mobile Care Solutions (VMall, Greenhills), Infromax stores, Inbox (Angeles City, Pampanga) and Datalink Technologies (Bacolod).
You can also have it delivered to you by ordering online. You can use the Order Form tab on the Opt Philippines Facebook page and there will be an additional Php60 delivery fee for Metro Manila buyers and Php100 for provincial.
