The Project Fi Twitter recently confirmed that MVNO will host a ‘mid-tier price’ smartphone at the latter end of 2017. With further information from VentureBeat, this smartphone might be the Moto X4.
Specifically, VentureBeat’s report states that the X4 will launch sometime in Q4 2017, but that’s it. Should Project Fi confirm the Moto X4 as its next Project Fi-ready phone, this will be the first non-Google device that they’ll offer.
In terms of specs, an older graphic showing off Motorola’s 2017 lineup says that the X4 will feature a 5.2-inch FHD display, 3D Glass, and a SmartCam feature. For a more in-depth look at the device, we’ll have to wait for an official announcement from either Project Fi or Motorola.
Finally, one of the bigger reasons why most think the Moto X4 is coming stems from the lack of an X-series handset last 2016. Motorola could stand to gain greater notoriety this year if they return with the Moto X4 under Project Fi.
