Lenovo brings back the beloved motorola brand with the introduction of two new smartphones–the motorola razr 5G and moto g 5G plus. Both devices come with many firsts as well as classic features that long-time motorola fans know and love. It includes the iconic clamshell design of the early 2000s, now powered by the blazing-fast connection of 5G.

The historic “flip” design of the razr is back and better than ever with the motorola razr 5G.

The new hinge leaves no space in between when folded closed. It makes the phone as slim and compact as possible. The device is also more protected against dust and debris. In addition, users can flip the hinge with just one hand. Plus, it has enough sturdiness to stay firm while open. The hinge is also built to last. The baseline of the phone’s rigorous non-stop flip test is 200,000 flips.

While folded, users can utilize the razr 5G’s external 2.7-inch Quick View display. It can now do more than just tell time and notify of incoming calls or messages. With the phone’s Android 10 OS, users can swipe up to access the home screen. Swipe right to use the camera; swipe left to call contacts and run apps.

Unfolded, the razr 5G flaunts a 6.2-inch Flex View display. The screen has five layers designed to fold in concert with the new hinge system. The screen also includes a custom protective hard coat with a material that creates a barrier to protect against spills, splashes, rain, and more. The new display has a tapered chin and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. It is made up of polished 3D glass with a 7000 series aluminum frame that gives a distinguished, eye-catching look in Polished Graphite.

While holding the razr 5G horizontally, films and videos come to life. The display’s CinemaVision technology brings in 21:9 resolution quality, the same ultra-wide dimensions used in the film industry. Users can also enjoy crystal-clear photos with the razr 5G’s 48MP camera. The Quad Pixel technology built-in captures sharp, vibrant photos, even in low-light conditions. Flipping the razr 5G closed also leads to new photo opportunities through its many camera modes.

To cap it off, the razr 5G comes with four antennas that allow a 5G connection. It works with Qualcomm’s brand-new Snapdragon 765 processor.

With the moto g 5G plus, motorola and Lenovo changes what a mid-tier smartphone should be by allowing it to provide 5G for everyone.

Coming in a 6.7-inch display, the moto g 5G plus also has CinemaVision. It allows the phone to show movies in their full 21:9 cinematic beauty. The display has a 90Hz screen refresh rate and an HDR10 feature that reduces screen tearing. Additionally, the screen displays motion smoother than ever while delivering sharp contrast and vibrant colors. Furthermore, the phone has the Snapdragon 765 processor, a rare feat for a mid-tier device.

What sets apart the moto g 5G plus is its innovative six-camera setup. At the front, there’s an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 16MP Quad Pixel camera to take selfies day or night. Its sensor captures the smallest details and can deliver four times better light sensitivity than other cameras. Meanwhile, the back features four cameras. A 48MP Quad Pixel camera leads the pack. The other lenses are an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 5MP camera with a macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor camera. Many shooting modes are available such as Long Exposure, Spot Color, and Auto Smile Capture. The AI Shot Optimization uses Artificial Intelligence to automatically select the right camera settings.

Pricing & Availability

Both the motorola razr 5G and moto g 5G plus will be available in the Philippines in December 2020. It will retail in all major electronics stores and authorized Lenovo resellers. The motorola razr 5G will sell for P72,990. Meanwhile the 8GB RAM variant of the moto g 5G plus will retail at P16,990.
