Critics of Lenovo smartphones and tablets usually target the ‘subpar’ software experience. It apparently takes away from the strong hardware specs. Thus, the Vibe UI often finds itself described as arguably the worst Android skin in the market.
However, this may change. Lenovo announced that they’ll be dropping Vibe UI, and offering stock Android on future devices. For now, however, they’ll be testing the effectiveness of this in only one key market, India.
If this works, it could mean a major speed boost for Android updates on Lenovo devices. In addition, should this prove popular with the Indian market, Lenovo might settle with spreading the practice towards its other markets, including the Philippines.
