Recently, Spanish retailer KTRONIX accidentally published details of the upcoming Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus, ahead of its speculated debut at MWC 2017.
Based on what was leaked, the Moto G looks rather unimpressive. Of course, this might be on purpose, as the Moto G series rarely presents itself as a chic, stylish phone. However, there are enough changes displayed by the Moto G5 visually to make this model something to look out for.
The Moto G5 and G5 Plus adopts the new circular shape for the camera lens, similar to the Moto 360 smartwatch face. To speak in detail, it basically looks like a plain old circle sitting above a non-indented Moto bat-wing logo. For the front face, the Moto G5 opts for a more conventional rounded rectangle. Another major change stems from what looks like a metallic material look, instead of the plastic of last year.
For those wanting to see leaked specs, the Moto G5 supposedly rocks a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 430. Meanwhile, the Moto G5 Plus tops this by employing a Snapdragon 625. Both will tout 2 GB RAM, but the G5 gets only 32GB ROM, while the G5 Plus lucks out with 64GB. Finally, the Moto G5 features a fingerprint scanner, while the G5 Plus goes further with NFC.
Expect official details to arrive via Barcelona’s MWC 2017.
