Aside from the Inspiron 14z that was launched last week, Dell also unveiled their premium Ultrabook, the XPS 14 which retails for a hefty Php68,990.
The Dell XPS 14 features Dells superb design and craftsmanship. It has a highly-durable machined aluminum chassis, bonded Corning Gorilla Glass and a silicone base in a thin 20.7mm design. It’s a bit hefty though for an Ultrabook having a weight of 2.1kg.
Powering the basic configuration of the Dell XPS 14 is a 3rd generation Intel Core i5, 4GB DDR3 RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M discrete graphics. A 32GB SSD and 500GB HDD hybrid drive takes care of the storage for this machine which has the Intel Rapid Start technology for faster boot and wake up times.
The 14-inch display on the XPS 14 features a 400-nit brightness and an above average 1600 x 900 resolution with a thin bezel. This Ultrabook also features a backlit keyboard and a generous-sized touchpad on a magnesium palmrest with soft touch paint. Unlike the Inspiron 14z, there’s no optical drive here. Dell claims that the built-in 8-cell Li-Po battery can give you up to 11 hours straight computing. We highly doubt that but with a Li-Po type of battery, expect faster charging times.
The Dell XPS 14 comes in either a Core i5 or Core i7 configuration with a retail price of Php68,990 and Php79,990 respectively.
