Canon intros new PowerShot cameras starting from Php3,950

I remember owning my first digital camera. It was a 2-megapixel Canon PowerShot A20. That was supposed to be an entry-level camera at that time that’s powered by 4 AA batteries but you know how much I got it for? A whopping Php15,000.

These days you know how much an entry-level Canon PowerShot goes for? You can get one for as low as Php3,950 and it can do 10 megapixels and is powered by 2 AA batteries so it’s lighter and more compact than its ancestor. That’s the Canon Powershot A800. It is made with the needs of a novice photographer in mind. Or for those who still do not own their own camera. It won’t break your wallet but you can still get Canon-quality shots.

Taking it up a notch is the PowerShot A1200 and PowerShot A2200. Both cameras has an enhanced Smart Auto mode capable of detecting 32 different scene. It also comes with creative filters like the Toy Camera and miniature effect. They also have the Live Control feature so you can actually see what your photo will look like given any enhancements before taking the shot.

The PowerShot A1200 is available in silver and stealth black with a front lens ring in a hexavelent chromium metallic silver finish.
