Asus may toughen up the smartwatch competition as it is set to announce the Vivowatch, boasting a ten-day battery over a single charge, at an international design conference this week.
The new fitness-centric wearable is equipped with a tough stainless steel body, sleep tracking and heart monitoring features. This, also, may not run on the much-favored Android Wear platform as it sports a black and white e-ink display, and a green LED notification light strip below it. On top of that, the wearable has an IP67 rating which shuts out dust and gives the device water resistance of up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. The Vivowatch is connected to your phone via Bluetooth for relaying notifications and other information.
The Asus Vivowatch is said to be pegged at a price between $100 and $150 (Php4500 to Php6700) when it comes out in stores.
