Xiaomi recently announced the Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus in China, and revealed their Chinese price point, at RMB 799 (around PHP 6,118). Soon, however, Senior VP of Xiaomi Xiang Wang revealed that they will announce their global availability soon!
The Redmi 5 and 5 Plus, despite their affordability, tout flagship-level features. Most prominently, these include an 18:9 display with rounded corners, a front shooter with a selfie light, and a high-megapixel rear camera. Additionally, the 5 will sport a Snapdragon 450 processor, while the 5 Plus gets a Snapdragon 625 chipset. Overall, these fairly inexpensive phones have set high standards for other devices in the same price range.
Now, all that remains would be the official global release dates for the Xiaomi Redmi 5 and 5 Plus. Fortunately, these will come soon, and hopefully the Philippine market will get these sooner than later.
