Announced back in October 2016, the Sony a6500 Camera just debuted in the Philippines. Sony Philippines unveiled the camera at a food photography workshop recently, to display its capabilities.
Built on Success
The Sony a6500 is the latest edition to Sony’s award winning line of mirrorless cameras. It also follows the a6300 so they share the 4D FOCUS system. This allows a camera to focus on a subject in 0.05 seconds. This camera also takes from the a7II, making use of Sony’s in-camera 5-axis optical image stabilization. It also features touch-screen functionality to properly compliment the fast AF speed.
Going to the Next Level
The camera is also the latest interchangeable lens camera that can shoot in 4K video quality. Tit supports the XAVC S codec when shooting, which records at a bit rate of up to 100 Mbps during 4K recording. A ‘Slow and Quick’ (S&Q) mode is added to the camera as well. The feature supports both slow motion and quick motion. the means frame rates from 1 fps to 100fps can be selected in 8 steps for up to 50x quick motion and 4x slow motion recording. On top of that, still images can also be extracted and saved in the Sony ?6500 from video footage.
This camera features an APS-C sized 24.2 MP sensor that works with a BIONZ X image processor. It also works with the new front-end LSI to maximize processing power and get a great range of sensitivity of up to ISO 51200.
Designed for Function and Mobility
The Sony a6500 has a magnesium alloy body and a high-durability shutterthat can last an approximate of 200,000 release cycles. Again taking from the a6300 it has the same high contrast, high-resolution OLED Tru-Finder that offers exceptional corner-to-corner visibility.
A new interface is also introduced with the Sony a6500 for smoother search and adjustment settings. Not only that but this camera is also Wi-Fi, QR and NFC compatible. Also it is compatible with the Sony Playmemories mobile app.
