Globe Telecom announced the official release date of iPhone 3G in the Philippines on August 22, 2008. Both postpaid and prepaid prices were also revealed.
Prepaid kits will cost at least Php41,889 for the 8GB version. Comes with 50 hours of free mobile internet. Includes Php200 free load per month for 6 months.
We got a scanned copy of the flyer that Globe will be distributing soon.

The iPhone 3G seems to be a bit expensive. However, a lot other phones that came out earlier are more or less in the same price point — the HTC Touch Diamond (Php41,000), the Nokia 8800, the Nokia E90, among others.

I agree….the cost is way too high. That’s even assuming you’re on the same network and just upgrading.
I had verizon, so kept my smartphone and just added a iPhone skin from http://www.iphonethemeforpocketpc.com , and I get the sleek look and cool add-ons, without all the cost.
mas mahal pa yung Plan 1599 ng globe kaysa sa AT&T plan sa US.
AT&T in 24 months: $1,158.76
Globe 1599 in 24 months: $1,241.02
asar ang globe.
guys check the site of globe…binawasan na nila ang price ng iphone 3g
you’re right porkypig19. but, it’s still a lot compared to the ones being sold in the US. i just don’t know why globe have to put so much in the price of the iPhone 3g. i mean, it’s just absurd. even if it reaches arnd $400+taxes, it’s still very expensive. argh!
i phone 3g is very expensive.. i thought it only range 14000 php..
Whoa! super mahal naman Iphone! hehehe (wala pera) hehehe…. iphone 3g of globe is the best no wonder sila kinuha ng apple !!!!
yeah porkypig19 you’re right Globe has reduced their iphone 3g selling price…
I just got my 3g S from globe and so far I understand why they’re price is way higher than At&T… like most high-end stuff when they get imported they go through customs and yes… taxes. Here in the PH taxes are a bit higher… I don’t know why. If I import a Luxury car like a Ferrari the tax and other “fees” will probably double the price if and we have. I got my 3G S under a limited promotion and I got it fast, so far I am happy with the service and the iPhone is well worth it. It replaced my laptop, my iPod, my PSP and my old phone. It can even serve as a modem for my laptop. So I think the price doesn’t really matter as long as you get what you pay for.
