Sony Philippines just announced the availability of their all new VAIO Pro 13, which is also the world’s lightest touchscreen Ultrabook. Not only it is ultra-light, but it’s thin and sexy as well.

VAIO-Pro

The Sony VAIO Pro 13 is a 13-inch UltraBook made with a uni-direction carbon fiber body with a Hexa-shell design to provide durability while achieving a mere weight of 1.06 kg. That’s even lighter than the 11-inch MacBook Air (1.08kg). This is made possible by using carbon fiber which is 50% lighter than the typical aluminum build of a typical UltraBook.

The 13-inch Full HD IPS display of the VAIO Pro 13 uses Sony’s Triluminos display found in their Bravia TVs. This allows for a wider palette of rich natural colors. It also uses Sony’s X-Reality for mobile which analyzes each image and reproduces lacking pixels to optimize quality for the sharpest videos. To complete the multimedia experience on this super-slim UltraBook, Sony also added their audio enhancing ClearAudio+ mode which is developed with their own signal processing technologies and makes it easy to enjoy Sony’s recommended sound.

VAIO-Pro-13Powering the VAIO Pro 13 is the latest Intel Haswell chips, a Core i7-4500U 1.8GHz dual-core processor plus Intel’s HD Graphics 4400. It also comes with 8GB RAM and a hefty 256GB high-speed PCIe SSD drive for quicker boot-ups and faster application launches than your typical SSD drive.

There’s a full-sized keyboard with wide key pitches and a unique gapless palm rest design for comfort. Ports include two USB 3.0, HDMI, and a SD card reader. It also comes with a VGA adapter if you still need those. This device is also NFC-enabled where a common usage would be is to stream music to NFC speakers with just one touch.

Battery life is not so shabby giving you 6-7 hours of straight computing. You can also opt for using a battery slice to double its battery life if you will be finding yourself without a power outlet for a long time.

The Core i7-4500U Sony VAIO Pro 13 is already available in black with an SRP of Php79,999. A Core i5 version is also available in Black and Silver for Php59,999.
