OPPO just revealed that they have successfully completed the world’s first video call with multiple parties via a 5G network. Several engineers have participated in the call using WeChat that lasted for more than 17 minutes.
The engineers have reported that the test went smoothly and had low latency throughout the duration of the call. OPPO used Keyshight’s UXM test set and 5G New Radio network emulation solutions for the 5G test.
This could mean that 5G can now be easily integrated in upcoming OPPO releases. It’s also reported that the company is trying to snag the title of becoming the firsts manufacturer to launch 5G smartphones.
