Here we go with yet another set of speculations about the features of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5. According to a reliable source of the Korean Herald, Samsung’s next flagship smartphone will feature a fingerprint scanner. This scanner will be placed under the screen to allow user to press anywhere on the display that will trigger the fingeprint-based actions. Additionally, the same source said that the rumored iris scanner of the Galaxy S5 will not come into fruition. The reason given being the fact that such iris scanner will require another camera and it will not be user-friendly and counter-intuitive as well.
Aside from the fingerprint scanner, there is also another report, this time from the ET News of Korea saying that the Galaxy S5 will feature better hover technology than the Galaxy S4. As such, the Galaxy S5 will have far better Air Gestures support. Air Gesture allows you to control your smartphone without touching its screen and lets you perform various functions. In addition, ET News also claims that the Galaxy S5 will be the first smartphone to feature 3-D, multi-touch gestures technology which will support multiple simultaneous gestures.
So there. It looks like the Samsung Galaxy S5 will be one highly-advanced smartphone after all. But then again what we’ve mentioned are still plain rumours. Let’s hope that Samsung discloses more details about the Galaxy S5 as its launch approaches.
