Well, it’s bound to happen. Cherry Mobile, who’s been priding itself for being the first to release affordable Android devices with unbelievable specs at its price point has just launched their first quad-core phone, the Cherry Mobile Flame 2.0.
Buyers of the first Flame must’ve been kicking their shins right now because by just adding a few hundred pesos to its Php6,299 price tag, they can get the better Flame 2.0 which will retail for Php6,999 coming this April.
The Cherry Mobile Flame 2.0 is equipped with a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 (not Krait) quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM (thank goodness) and their typical 4GB internal storage with microSD support. This one’s actually a rebranded Karbonn S1 Titanium.
Screen size is the same as the of the first Flame, 4.5-inch with a qHD IPS display (540 x 960). What’s unique here is that it uses OGS or One Glass Solution technology which effectively creates a glass panel that’s thinner and clearer.
This phone also has a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with flash at the back, and a VGA front-facing one with a feature similar to the Galaxy S4’s Dual-Camera mode. You can take photos using the front and rear camera simultaneously and overlay one on top of the other.
Just like most smartphones from Cherry Mobile today, the Flame 2.0 has dual-SIM capability so you won’t be missing out on that. Battery is limited at 1600mAh though which is lower than the 1800mAh of the first Cherry Mobile Flame. This only allows for only 4 hours worth of talk time.
The Cherry Mobile Flame 2.0 will retail for only Php6,999 and will be available on April 2013.

i read somewhere this phone uses Qualcomm Quad ARM Cortex A5 which is energy efficient meaning, longer battery life and less heat? right?
