While New York is expecting the Asus UX Ultrabook today, us in the Philippines were presented by Acer’s Aspire S3 aka Hummingbird. The first Ultrabook made available in the Philippines (the Toshiba Z830 is still weeks away).
The new Asus Aspire S3 Ultrabook is power-packed with features for a very portable notebook. There’s the 2-second instant on from sleep mode; connects 2x faster than before to access points, ultra-thin at 13mm and is powered by the 2nd generation Intel Core processor (Core i5-2467M).
Slim, sleek, and a Macbook Air look-alike but promises to bring users a real PC experience at a competitive price. Wowie Wong, Business Development Manager of Intel, says gone are the times that you would want to bring your powerful but heavy laptops. The new Acer S3 Ultrabook has a full chiclet keyboard, battery life that lasts 6-7 hours, aluminum/magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis, plus the revolutionary display technology that integrates the 13.3-inch frame and has a razor-thin 13-mm ultra-thin size at its thinnest point.
The new “œThermal Comfort” airflow cooling design of this ultra-slim laptop has been redesigned to fit any environment. The ventless bottom design is an innovative feature where the air flow and heat goes to the rear and not the bottom so performance will not be affected.
