Yesterday, DJI unveiled one of its newest innovations in the form of the DJI Osmo Pocket. The Osmo Pocket, DJI’s smallest three-axis stabilized camera yet, is very handy at just over 4 inches tall. According to President of DJI, Robert Luo, this device would no doubt “change the way photos and videos are captured, not just by professionals but by parents, couples, adventurers, travelers, and everyone in between.”
This device offers a ton of new qualities not present in any other product this cute. It features a 1/2.3-inch sensor that is capable of recording 12MP photos and 4K videos at up to 60fps at 100Mbps. The DJI Osmo Pocket also uses built-in dual microphones and advanced noise-cancelling algorithms for high quality audio. On top of that, the device is packed with battery that can withstand 2 hours worth of video in 4K at 30fps. Still equipped with DJI’s groundbreaking gimbal technology, Osmo Pocket helps users focus on their subjects, by keeping the camera upright despite a lot of movement.
Don’t be fooled by the DJI Osmo Pocket’s unpretentious design. This cute device is a beast in shooting videos, very much like DJI’s other cameras packed with the groundbreaking gimbal technology. This particular gimbal camera uses a 1-inch integrated touch screen that produces high quality live view that promotes creativity with highly customizable settings. This gives users the ability to change shooting modes, adjust settings, review footage, and other creative features, such as ActiveTrack, FaceTrack, Timelapse & Motionlapse, FPV Mode, and Panorama.
ActiveTrack and FaceTrack lets your Osmo Pocket recognize and keep its focus on your subjects as they move. Timelapse and Motionlapse turns your long boring moments into short enjoyable bits. FPV Mode helps capture videos in the shooter’s perspective by following that person’s every tilt and lean. The 3×3 & 180° Panorama would also never let you miss any detail in your photos. The 3×3 Panorama captures 9 expansive images, while the 180 180° mode stitches 4 images into one stunning photo.
Housed under the touchscreen, the iOS Lightning/USB-C port allows for DJI Mimo app connection. In-app, users will have access to a wide array of recording modes, including Story Mode and Pro Mode. Story Mode lets users pick a preset shooting pattern among 10 cool templates. That, combined with Mimo’s preset camera motions, will surely produce cinematic videos. Pro Mode gives users more power in customizing their shots through adjustments in camera and exposure settings. It doesn’t matter what time or setting you want to shoot in, the DJI Osmo Pocket will automatically recognize and adjust the illumination to produce well-lit photos. The gimbal also keeps the camera still for a shutter speed of up to three seconds to reduce the need for a tripod. Who knew that something this small could be so amazing?
Users who want to get their hands on the new DJI Osmo Pocket will only need to shell out Php 23,200 for pre-order at the official store. Pre-orders will start shipping on the 15th of December.
