DJI just announced its latest addition to the Mavic series, the DJI Mavic Air 2.
Compared to its predecessor, the DJI Mavic Air 2 now comes with a larger 1/2-inch image sensor, and higher (48MP) megapixel count. In addition, the new Mavic Air drone can now shoot up to 4K/60 fps, and 8K Hyperlapse videos.
Packed with OcuSync 2.0, the Mavic Air 2 has an improved transmission and can feed 1080p/30fps videos up to 10km distance. Maximum flight time has also increased to 34 minutes thanks to its 3500mAh battery.
Among its many intelligent flight modes is the new FocusTrack composed of ActiveTrack 3.0, Point of Interest (POI) 3.0, and Spotlight 2.0 which DJI says is its best tracking technology to date. Combined, the modes provide greater subject tracking, obstacle avoidance and object recognition. Furthermore, the DJI Mavic Air 2 offers better automatic obstacle avoidance with APAS 3.0.
Design-wise, the new Mavic Air 2 inherited its looks from the Mavic 2 Pro and is available in just one color variant. The drone also comes with a redesigned remote controller.
The DJI Mavic Air 2 is priced at USD 799 (Php 40,453) while the Mavic Air 2 Fly More Combo that comes with additional 2 batteries and extra propellers is priced at USD 988 (Php 50,022).
