ASUS just launched the ZenFone 5 series in the Philippines with the #Backto5 event held last weekend at One Esplanade, Pasay City.
The ZenFone 5 cameras boast AI technology, a feat ASUS global CEO Jerry Shen emphasized during the Philippine launch. Focused on promoting mobile photography, the ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 5Z feature AI cameras, while the ZenFone 5Q boasts the title for the first true quad-camera smartphone.
With a 6.2-inch display, the dual-camera ZenFone 5Z comes with a 90% screen-to body ratio in a 5.5″ body. The device runs on a Snapdragon 845 platform with AIE with Hexagon 685 DSP AI capabilities. It also comes with Adreno 630 Graphics and a Kryo 385 CPU. For optimal performance, it comes with 6Gb RAM and 128Gb ROM.
Meanwhile, the ZenFone 5 touts good design, a dual-camera system, and the Snapdragon 636 mobile platform. Moreover, it features the ASUS AI boost, which also runs on the ZenFone 5Z.
Both the ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 5Z feature dual-camera systems that adapt and learn as one takes more photos. Both come equipped with the Sony IMX363 1.4µm-pixel f/1.8 sensor and also feature a 120° wide-angle secondary camera and four-axis optical image stabilization (OIS). To take full advantage of the AI technology, both ZenFone smartphones tout AI Scene Detection, AI Photo Learning, Real-time Portrait and Real-time Beautification.
On the other hand, the ZenFone 5Q comes with a 6-inch screen and the first true quad-camera system. Both front and rear cameras come with high-resolution, wide-angle sensors. Its main camera shoots at up to 20MP, while the rear can snap up to 16MP. Both cameras also come with a secondary 120° wide-angle sensor. All cameras work independently for better-quality photos.
The ZenFone 5Q comes with a 5.5-inch body and an 18:9, 6-inch FHD IPS screen. It also comes with Snap 630 Mobile Platform and a 3,300 mAh battery. ASUS also made sure to include NFC, a triple-slot SIM/microSD card holder, face unlock and fingerprint recognition.
