Xiaomi gets ready for the future with the upcoming MIUI 9, with the goal of improving stability, speed, and overall optimization for better performance.
Described as one of the more responsive iterations of the MIUI, the MIUI9 already saw a lot of usage in the Indian market. Now, Xiaomi wants to roll out the MIUI 9 for the global market. Notable new additions include a retooled notification pane, which did not appear in the Chinese version of the ROM. Additionally, an all-new image editor will come with the global variant. Additionally, expect the inclusion of a new video player, exclusive themes, and stickers. Lastly, a Google Now-style pane will list the user’s most-used apps.
Xiaomi will roll out the MIUI 9 update across a total of 32 phones. These include most Xiaomi phones released over the last five years. Some notable devices include the Mi Mix, Mi Mix 2, the Redmi 5A, and the Redmi Note 4. For the full list, see the source article. Expect the roll out to come to all the phones within the next few months.
