Serving as a successor to the Redmi Note 5 Pro, the Redmi Note 6 Pro now sports the trendy notch visible on other phones released this year. It is also the first Xiaomi smartphone to have a four-camera setup that can achieve bokeh effects and AI-assisted scene recognition.
Since it features a notch, the Note 6 Pro’s 6.26-inch FHD+ display now goes up to a 19:9 ratio and a 2,280 x 1,080 display resolution. In terms of hardware, the Redmi Note 6 Pro is powered by the same Snapdragon 636 chipset that’s also present in its predecessor, as well as a battery capacity of 4,000mAH. There is talk of adding a variant with higher RAM and internal memory but for now, the Note 6 Pro is available in 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.

At best, it seems that the Note 6 Pro is a timely update for the Note 5 Pro. The only other difference aside from the cameras and display would be the OS: while the Note 5 Pro runs on Android Nougat (7.1.2), the Redmi Note 6 Pro is now on Android Oreo (8.1).
