Xiaomi just added two budget-friendly smartphones to its entry level portfolio, namely Redmi 6 and 6A, powered by efficient chipsets.
The Xiaomi Redmi 6 has 5.45-inch HD+ IPS display with 1440 x 720 resolution. It sports a dual camera, composing 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel rear cameras with LED Flash and AI. The device also has 5-megapixel selfie shooter. Despite the low price, Redmi 6 is powered by MediaTek Helio P22 2.0GHz octa-core processor, supported by 3, 000 mAh battery.
It will be available in two variants: 3GB of RAM with 32GB of flash storage or 4GB + 64GB. Other features include AI-aided face unlock. It also touts a fingerprint scanner on the back.
For the more affordable Redmi 6A, it boasts the same display as Redmi 6. The smartphone is powered by a Helio A22 chipset, paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage.
For its camera, the Redmi 6A only offers one 13-megapixel sensor with LED flash on the back, while its front camera is identical with Redmi 6’s 5-megapixel sensor. Xiaomi did not keep the fingerprint sensor, but retained the face unlock for the Redmi 6A.
