If you’ve been shopping around looking at laptops or PC’s recently, you may have come across the Enhanced Experience 2.0 logo on Lenovo machines. Do you know what this EE 2.0 is all about? Should it concern you or is it just another sticker badge that you shouldn’t care about?
The Lenovo Enhanced Experience 2.0 is a technology by Lenovo that optimizes Think and Idea-branded machines using Windows 7. So first of all, it won’t appear or work with other versions of Windows ok? It is a key differentiating point for Lenovo amongst competitors that comes with improved features and industry-leading Windows start-up and shutdown performance.
With Lenovo RapidBoot technology, customers can start2 their Lenovo PC on average 20 seconds faster than a typical Windows 7 PC and offer 28 percent faster shutdown speeds. I’ve been playing with the new IdeaPad Z370 and every time I boot the laptop, it records the start up time and if it takes longer than usual, it asks me if I want to optimize my system. I tried clicking yes and it shaved around 17 seconds off my previous boot time with the next reboot. I also love how quick the laptop wakes up from sleep mode, it’s only a second or two longer than SSD-based laptops.
Speaking of SSD, on select Lenovo EE 2.0 PCs with optional RapidDrive SSD technology, like the IdeaPad Y570, users can start their PCs in less than 10 seconds, and open applications two times faster. That’s the power of SSD and with the Lenovo EE 2.0, it will boot faster than the already-fast MacBook Air [YouTube link].
Aside from quick start-up and shutdown speeds, Lenovo Enhanced Experience 2.0 for Windows 7 provides Think-branded PCs including the new Lenovo ThinkPad T420 laptop rich Web conferencing capabilities and robust security features including a fingerprint reader that can be used to power-on the PC, optional self-encrypting hard drives, BIOS port lock settings and Hardware Password Manager for deploying security features across a fleet of PCs.
Vicky Agorrilla, Country General Manager, Lenovo Philippines said: “œThe release of Lenovo PCs equipped with Enhanced Experience 2.0 provides an ideal opportunity for companies to realize the benefits of Windows 7 as part of their PC refresh cycle. These organizations will enjoy a positive experience through Lenovo and Windows 7 with faster boot-up and shut-down times as well as better productivity for businesses.”
