Not long after the Y95 was officially announced, Vivo Y91 was released into the market. Vivo is visibly trying to cater to the lower end of the market by providing cheaper options such as the Y91. Today we’ll run through its basic features so read on to see if this phone is for you!

Design & Construction

Aesthetics-wise, the Y91 looks very similar to the V11: sporting a waterdrop notch and a plastic back panel designed with Vivo’s signature mineral shine gradient. At 164g, the Y91 is very compact and lightweight. It’s currently available in two color variants: Starry Black and Ocean Blue.

Display & Multimedia

The Y91 packs a 6.22-inch HD+ Halo Fullview display that has a screen resolution of 1520 x 720 px. It seems that the Y91 is made with basic mobile gaming in mind, as it also has an AI Game Mode to help boost gaming performance.

Camera

Packed with a 13MP + 2MP dual rear camera, the Y91 is the perfect companion for people on the go who need a reliable camera to record every moment with. If you’re also after taking selfies, don’t worry! The 8MP front camera can capture amazing selfies just fine.

Performance

The Y91 is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 439 chipset with an Adreno 505 GPU. Though it may seem that the processor is on the lower end of Qualcomm’s spectrum, the GPU is powerful enough to handle games that don’t have heavy graphics requirements. Smaller MOBA games such as Mobile Legends or casual simulation games should run smoothly. The 3GB RAM allows it to multitask pretty efficiently, and the 32GB internal storage is expandable up to 256GB via the microSD card.

The Y91 runs on an Android 8.1 OS, and uses the Vivo FunTouch OS 4.5 interface. It’s also equipped with extra security features such as a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and face unlock. And finally, the most impressive part of this phone is its large battery capacity. At 4,030mAh, the Y91 can certainly keep up with your gaming needs. Depending on use, it can last for up to almost two days.
