Vivo has unveiled two new flagship smartphones this August, one of which is the Vivo X50 Pro with a 90Hz AMOLED display and 8GB of RAM. Additionally, this non-pro variant of the X50 series boasts Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a quad-camera setup, and support for 33W fast wired charging.
Design & Construction
Available in Frost Blue and Glaze Black colorways, the Vivo X50 flaunts a modern look. It has a glass rear with a glossy gradient finish. The quad rear camera sits vertically at the upper left corner at the back. The Vivo logo can be seen at the lower left corner of the reflective rear.
All the buttons are situated on the right side of the device. The left side remains clear of any keys or ports. At the top, there’s a tiny hole for the noise-calling microphone and the “Professional Photography” printed text. The USB C port, speakerphone, and the SIM tray are located at the bottom of the phone.
In front of the X50 is a large vivid display. There are minimal bezels surrounding the screen. The front camera rests behind the small hole-punch cut-out on the top left of the display.
Display & Multimedia
The Vivo X50 arrives with a huge 6.56-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD+ (2376 x 1080) resolution. The display also boasts a pixel density of 398ppi. On top of that, the X50’s screen clocks a 90Hz refresh rate and supports HDR10+. A Corning Gorilla Glass provides protection for the vibrant screen.
The fingerprint sensor is under the display, which allows the display to take up the whole area in front.
Camera
The newest Vivo mobile device features a quad-camera setup at the back. The shooting system includes a 48MP Sony IMX598 four-axis main shooter, a 13MP depth sensor, 8MP wide-angle shooter, and a 5MP macro lens.
In front, a 32-megapixel camera with F2.45 aperture takes care of your self-portraits and group selfies.
Performance
Under the hood, the X50 comes equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor. This is paired with an Adreno 618 GPU.
For storage and memory needs, the Vivo X50 has 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. Do note, however, that this model doesn’t have support for storage expansion via miroSD.
A huge 4200mAh battery powers the whole phone. It comes with the Vivo FlashCharge 2.0 feature, which offers 33W fast-charging capabilities.
The Vivo X50 also has dual SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C, and multi-function NFC connectivities. It runs on Funtouch OS 105, based on Android 10.
