The concept phone that Vivo presented during the recently concluded Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last February has finally became a reality as Vivo officially unveiled it as their newest flagship, the Vivo NEX.
What makes this phone special is the way Vivo achieved it to be an all-screen, nearly bezel-less smartphone, presenting the fingerprint sensor and the front camera in an innovative, clever way. Vivo NEX’s fingerprint sensor is an on-screen one, while its front camera is hidden in its body, and only pops-out when needed.
Its display is a 6.59-inch sAMOLED Ultra FullView display in 2316 x 1080 resolution. Under the hood, it packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 coupled with a 6GB RAM for the NEX A variant, and an 8GB RAM for the NEX S model, and a choice of 128GB or 256GB internal storage.
In terms of its imaging, the Vivo NEX has a 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual main camera setup while upfront is an 8-megapixel sensor. It operates on an Android 8.1 out of the box topped with Vivo FunTouch OS 4.0.
The Vivo NEX is priced at CNY 3,898 (around PhP 32,300) for the 6GB/128GB NEX A, CNY 4,498 (around PhP 37,300) for the NEX S with 8GB/128GB storage, and CNY 4,998 (PhP 41,400) for the 8GB/256GB version. No official announcement yet regarding its local availability.
