Vivo steps up its global influence by becoming the exclusive smartphone sponsor for the next FIFA World Cup! Or more accurately, the next six years for the FIFA association.
As the official smartphone brand for FIFA in the next six years, Vivo will also cover the Confedertations Cup 2017 and 2021, and the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Since football is a world-renowned sport, this venture takes Vivo to a whole new level of exposure and publicity. Not only that, but the amount of official advertising will simply make Vivo a much bigger brand than before.
Official advertising includes field advertising boards, event tickets, press release backdrops, and even special marketing programs. Specifically, the special programs feature the right to invite guests to be Vivo phone photographers during pre-match warm-ups. Additionally, Vivo will also create a customized FIFA World Cup phone for both football fans and Vivo customers. FIFA Staff will also partake in the Vivo-FIFA alliance by using Vivo smartphones onsite during all competitions.
Vivo has a long history of using sports as a marketing tool. In fact, Vivo started this trend by becoming the title sponsor of the Indian Premier League. Afterwards, the brand struck a partnership with NBA China as its official Mobile Handset Sponsor.
