Even though Vivo feels like a neophyte in the Philippine smartphone market, it truly rose astronomically into one of the larger tech brands in the world. This time, Vivo managed to nab the title of ‘fastest-growing smartphone brand worldwide’, according to the International Data Corporation (IDC).
The Winner for Q2 2017
According to the IDC and its Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, Vivo posted a quarter-to-quarter growth of 66 percent. This secures their spot in the top five premium global brands for Q2 2017. Though getting into specifics would be complicated, it’s safe to say that their Perfect Selfie branding elevated them. Vivo’s V5 and V5s, for example, gained enormous traction, enough to make NBA star Stephen Curry one of its endorsers.

IDC also predicts a large spike in Q4 2017, in anticipation of the Christmas Holidays. Vivo could expect a surge in customers looking for the perfect tech gift for their loved ones.
