Samsung recently announced their latest mid-range lineup with the Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018). They shared plenty of details regarding the smartphones, but did not give a definite price or date.
This changes with a confirmed release date for the Galaxy A8 (2018), now planned for January 6th, 2018. Currently, this only points to a Vietnamese launch, though. However, we may assume that the first month will also see the worldwide release of the devices. Ueropean and Vietnamese pricing also appear in the new info. Specifically, the A8 will retail for EUR 499 (around PH 28,633), while the A8 Plus will cost around EUR 599 (around PHP 35,570)
The standard A8 phone itself touts a 5.6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 2:1 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2220 x 1080. Plus, it features 4GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of expandable storage. Finally, fast-charging returns to help keep the 3,000mAh battery powered up all day. Internally, both phones will sport a Samsung Exynos 7885 processoe.
For cameras, we will get a dual-lens selfie shooter, a combo of a 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel sensor. Meanwhile, the rear camera will get a 16-megapixel lens with a f/1.7 aperture. Expect a formal introduction of the Galaxy A8 (2018) lineup at CES 2018.
