The iPhone-Dev team just released their latest jailbreak for iPod devices and the original iPad running iOS 4.3.1. Redsnow 0.9.6RC9 will give you an untethered jailbreak for your device.
This 4.3.1 jailbreak is applicable to the following devices:
- iPhone3GS
- iPhone4 (GSM)
- iPod touch 3G
- iPod touch 4G
- iPad1
Unfortunately, the iPad 2 is not included in the list since it requires a new bootrom exploit. The Limera1n and SHAtter bootrom won’t work anymore on the new iPad. Something to consider before ordering the new iPad.
Redmond Pie has a step-by-step guide on how to do the jailbreak if you’re unfamiliar with it. And here are the download links for the jailbreak.

As usual, iPhone users who needs a baseband unlock will have to wait for an updated Ultrasn0w. Or you can use Sn0wbreeze instead.
If you’re an iPod Touch or iPad user and wondering if you should upgrade to 4.3.1, here’s a rundown on what the new iOS can do for you. iPhone users would love the Personal Hotspot feature included in the upgrade.
