Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has successfully concluded the National Finals of its premier e-motorsports tournament, the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing GT Cup Philippines (TGR GT Cup PH) on Sunday, August 18, in an exciting live event at the SM Mall of Asia. The event saw the country’s top sim racers battle it out for a chance to represent the Philippines at the Asia Finals.

The Finals commenced with the Quarterfinals on August 17, where the Top 40 fastest e-racers from the qualifiers competed in three race heats on the Trial Mountain track using the Toyota GR Yaris RZ “High Performance” ‘20. Past TGR GT Cup PH Sporting Class champion Luis Moreno and defending champion Russel Reyes dominated their respective batches, winning all three races.
The Semifinals saw the Top 20 drivers take on the Suzuka Circuit in the Toyota GR Supra RZ ’20, with dynamic weather conditions adding an extra layer of challenge. Luis Moreno continued to impress, joined by Enzo Ison and Russel Reyes in the top positions.
The National Finals saw three different tracks and cars, with the top 10 e-racers competing in wheel-to-wheel action. Luis Moreno was crowned the TGR GT Cup PH 2024 Champion, with Enzo Ison in second and Russel Reyes in third. Special awards were given to Ison for Driver of the Day and Matthew Ang for Fastest Lap.
Luis Moreno, Enzo Ison, and Russel Reyes have been selected to represent Team Philippines at the Asia Finals in Malaysia on October 13. They will face off against the top sim racers from other Asian countries, vying for the title of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing GT Cup Asia Champion.
