Globe:
Globe Telecom Inc. signed Tuesday an agreement with Mobile ESPN to provide sports content to clients on their cellular phones. This is with the other members of the Bridge Mobile Alliance.
Smart:
Smart, together with sister firm ePLDT and Wolfpac, signed an agreement with IMG Media for the latter to provide 3G sports content that can be viewed via Smart’s 3G phones. Wolfpac Mobile is the mobile content provider of the Smart/PLDT group.
Will live and freshly updated sports content push more people to subscribe to 3G services?
How about local sports?

It’d be nice to know though if ABSCBN fares well with their mobile content for the UAAP and NCAA games. That would be a good indicator if serving 3G local sports content is profitable.
Although I think ABSCBN will probably jump the gun on 3G this upcoming UAAP season.
That’s a good idea, they already have the capability for live encoding. Trial for free publicity?
