With Cherry Mobile’s entry into the bang-for-the-buck, mid-range segment of the smartphone market with the Flare X, how will it fare against the current competition? We’ll be showing a few hardware comparison charts to see how it will fare with a few phones that are already out in the market.
First up, we’ll put CM’s new Flare flagship against the much-applauded Alcatel Flash Plus, whose internals and price range is the closest.
When comparing both handsets based on their spec sheets, there are a lot that can be said about the local smartphone brand’s new smartphone advantages. For Php 6,999, the Flare X sports a better Full HD screen, bigger RAM, Dual LED Flash, and a better clocked octa-core processor. The Flare X also poises itself as one of the most readily-available bang-for-the-buck smartphones in the local market once it hits offline retailers in Metro Manila and online shopping websites by July, something most phones in this segment currently lack.
With that being said, there are also a lot of advantages for getting the Alcatel Flash Plus. The HD screen can benefit mostly from its 3500mAh battery capacity, which can tout a longer battery life. It’s also one of the most affordable phones right now — at Php 6,450 — and it’s equipped with a better front camera resolution at eight megapixels.
Now that the local smartphone brands are responding to the competition started by international handset makers, which will you choose? You can take part in the poll by chiming in with your comments section below.
