Sony’s camera expertise incorporated into their mobile devices gives their Xperia line an edge. However, Sony takes these camera capabilities to a whole new level with the the new Sony Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 compact.
The Sony Xperia Xz1 and Xz1 Compact – Camera Features Galore
One of the coolest things about the Xperia XZ1 line is that they come with a 3D scanning feature. You can scan your face or any object and save it as an image, or add the scanned image to the augmented reality features of the device. Plus, you can even have your scans reproduced as a 3D printed sculpture. The burst mode on these devices can take up to 10 images per second, with the autofocus adjusting to the movement so you keep getting crisp and clear photos. Also, they have the impressive slow motion capture feature we loved from the Xperia XZs. Lastly, the predictive capture takes another photo as you are snapping a picture, offering you the option of another great looking photo.
To utilize these features, the two phones have equally impressive cameras. The main shooter is a 19MP Motion Eye Camera. This rear shooter has a 25mm wide angle G Lens, and f/2.0 aperture. Up front, the XZ1 has a 13MP camera with a 22mm wide angle lens, and f/2.0 aperture. Meanwhile, the XZ1 compact has an 8MP front shooter with an 18mm super wide-angle lens for 120 degrees field of view.
Under the hood, the phones share the same specs. A Snapdragon 835 processor and 4GB of RAM powers the phones. Both have a 2,700 mAh battery with the Qualcomm quick charge feature and stamina mode, moreover, a TRILUMINOS display with dynamic contrast enhancer. The Xperia XZ1 has a bigger and higher res 5.2 inch FHD HDR display than the the XZ1 Compact’s 4.6 inch HD Display.
The phones are said to ship in the US this month with price tags of $699.99 and $599.99 for the Sony Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact respectively. In the Philippines that roughly converts to Php 35,000 and Php 30,000.
