LTE handsets are popping up and the rugged 4.3-inch Sony Xperia V made its way into Smart’s 1500 LTE subscription plan for a limited period starting on December 21.
The Sony Xperia V is the fourth water and dust-resistant handset from Sony’s stable and is the first LTE phone of its kind worldwide. It can support LTE speeds of up to 100 Mbps and will go down to HSPA+ speeds when no LTE network is found.
This phone is targeted toward the “œTech Mature” with its 4.3-inch HD Reality Display, dual-core Snapdragon S4 (Krait) processor, and 13-megapixel camera with Sony’s Exmor R lens. It has 8GB of flash memory with microSD support of up to 32GB.
Its dust and water-resistance is rated at IP55/57 which is currently the highest level in a smartphone. It can be immersed underwater for up to 1m for 30 minutes.
The phone features a unique Battery STAMINA Mode which can increase standby time up to 4 times. This mode is unlike other apps on Google Play and is achieved via deeper integration into the Android OS.
Once this phone moves outside Smart’s LTE Plan, it will retail for Php27,000.
