Android 4.1 Jelly Bean was just released mid this year but unfortunately for last year’s Sony Ericsson Xperia phones, they won’t be getting it anymore according to Sony UK.
It was just a couple of months ago that phones like the Xperia Arc S, which was the company’s top smartphone last year, got their Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update. If the Xperia Arc S won’t be getting it, it must be safe to assume that other 2011 Xperia phones won’t either. They already confirmed that Xperia Mini Pro won’t get Jelly Bean as well.
On the other pond, LG Canada confirmed over Twitter that they got word from LG HQ that there are no more plans to upgrade their Optimus 2X and Optimus Black to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It was late last year when LG announced their planned ICS update for the two phones.
