Sony has introduced the freshest addition to its Extra Bass wireless speaker line: the SRS-XB43, SRS-XB33, and SRS-XB23. The new models boast superb sound quality, toughness, and ease of use.
The three new Extra Bass models feature the new X-Balanced speaker units for high sound quality and powerful sound pressure. The SRS-XB43 has an almost rectangular diaphragm. Its two-way speaker system combines a woofer for low to mid frequencies, while a dedicated tweeter for higher range frequencies. On the other hand, the unit in the XB33 and XB23 has a newly developed non-circular diaphragm and off-center design. This maximizes the speaker diaphragm but keeps the speakers compact in size.
The speakers also come equipped with Mica Reinforced Cellular (MRC) cone and dust cap. These rigid and lightweight MRC parts contribute to the sound quality of each device. Additionally, the layout of the side passive radiators has also been optimized across all three models for clear bass sound.
Sony also packed a lot of cool features in the new Extra Bass speakers. There’s the Live Sound mode in the XB43 and XB33 that gives your music a 3-dimensional sound as if you’re hearing it live. The Party Connect feature lets the user connect up to 100 other XB43, XB33, and XB23 speakers for a boosted sound experience.
The audio devices flaunt fresh designs with a multicolor line. The Sony SRS-XB43 also arrives with the tweeter and speaker lighting. They are compact, lightweight, and easy to carry. Plus, they all come with a USB Type-C charging port. Users can connect their smartphones to any of the three speakers via the USB Type-A slot (XB43 and XB33 only), Bluetooth, or NFC (XB43 and XB33 only). All three models are also water-, dust-, and shockproof design with an IP67 rating.
To maximize the features on the new Sony speakers, download the Fiestable companion app (Android, iOS) and the Sony | Music Centre app (Android, iOS). Compatible with the XB43 and XB33, Fiestable lets users control the lights on the Extra Bass units–either sync it to the beat or suit your mood. Meanwhile, audio lovers can select their favorite playlist, cue the next song, or turn the lighting off via the Sony | Music Centre.
In terms of battery life, the SRS-XB43 and SRS-XB33 promise up to 24 hours of battery life. The SRS-XB23 can work up to 12 hours of playtime.
