Sony has introduced the all-new RX0 II, the world’s smallest and lightest premium compact camera to date. The all-new Sony RX0 II carries the same ultra-compact, rugged body as the original RX0, along with water-, dust-, shock-, and crushproof qualities. The new model, however, adds internal 4K recording, up to 180-degree tiltable LCD screen that works even underwater, and new image stabilization feature for videos.
If you’re into selfies, the Sony RX0 II features a Soft Skin Effect mode, which covers minor blemishes and wrinkles on the subject’s face. The advanced Eye AF, on the other hand, allows the camera to lock on to the eye of the subject with just a half press of the shutter button.
At the heart of the RX0 II is a 1.0-type stacked 15.3MP Exmor RS CMOS image sensor and an advanced BIONZ X image processing engine. There’s also the ZEISS Tessar T 24mm3 F4.0 fixed wide-angle lens, which offers a shortened minimum focusing distance of 20cm. This camera also offers a wide sensitivity range of ISO 80 to 12800, 1/32000 seconds anti-distortion shutter, and up to 16fps continuous shooting. The Sony RX0 II measures just 59mm by 40.5mm by 35mm and weighs just 132g.

For video recording, the RX0 II boasts 4K 30p internal movie recording with full pixel readout and no pixel binning. In addition, this lightweight shooter comes with in-body electronic stabilization. Functions like Picture Profile, S-Log2, and Time Code/User Bit are also available for use.
To enhance the videos further, the Movie Edit add-on mobile app provides additional processing to the videos, creating gimbal-like smoothness. Meanwhile, the Intelligent Framing feature in the app keeps the selected subject in the center of the frame. This feature also corrects image distortion in the final edit. The app even allows users to choose the aspect ratio of the recording before sharing or downloading.
Users can also easily transfer the footage from the camera to their phones via the Sony Imaging Edge mobile application. This app also allows wireless control of up to 5 RX0 II cameras.
Sony is yet to announce when will the RX0 II will officially hit the stores in the Philippines. The camera will come with a price tag of P39,999.
