It looks like Sony’s wasting no time in bringing their latest phones in the country this year. We’ve recently reviewed the Sony Xperia S which will be made available mid-April and the rest will be unveiled in a couple of weeks.
However, Sony Mobile PH already announced the availability and pricing of three other NXT phones, the Xperia Sola, Xperia P, and the Xperia U for those who are wondering how much they would save to get these once available around mid-May.
Sony Xperia U – Php13,990
The most affordable of the bunch, the Xperia U appeals to the fun-loving stylish people out there with its interchangeable colored caps. This phone has a 3.5″ FWVGA screen with Mobile Bravia Engine for a sharper and moreΒ vibrantΒ display. It’s powered by a dual-core 1GHz processor with 512MB RAM and 8GB storage (only 4GB accessible to user) but without any microSD slot. It has a 5-megapixel camera with the Exmor R sensor and can shoot 720p HD videos.
The Sony Xperia U will be available for Php13,990Β which makes it a really affordable dual-core phone. It comesΒ bundled with a set of earphones with tangle-free flat cables, a screen protector and an extra exchangeable colored cap.
Sony Xperia Sola – Php16,990
Next on the line is the Xperia Sola and it’s floating touch display. What it does is detect your finger even when it’s not touching the screen so that there’s less Β chance of hitting the wrong buttons and links which is helpful when navigating websites. It was also reported to work even on non-conductive fabric such as gloves.
The Xperia Sola is slightly bigger than the Xperia U with its 3.7″ FWGA display with Mobile Bravia Engine. It also has the same 1GHz dual-core (NovaThor U8500) processor as the Xperia U, same 8GB storage and 512MB RAM, and same 5-megapixel camera. However, the Xperia Sola has the benefits of a microSD slot.
Retail price of the Sony Xperia Sola is Php16,990 and it comes withΒ 2 NFC Smart Tags, a screen protector, and aΒ set of earphones.
Sony Xperia P – Php22,990
Placed at the mid to high range line of Sony smartphones is the Xperia P which has theΒ WhiteMagic display technology that provides the brightest viewing experience wherever you are any time of the day. Along with the Bravia Reality Display, this beats other phones in getting the same sharp and vibrant image even under direct sunlight.
This device has a 4″ qHD display (540 x 960) and runs on the same dual-core 1GHz chip as the Xperia U and Xperia Sola. It does, however, come with 1GB RAM and 16GB storage but without microSD support. Its 8-megapixel camera can also shoot Full HD 1080p videos.
The Sony Xperia P will retail at Php22,990 come mid-May and will be bundled withΒ 2 NFC Smart Tags, anΒ HDMI cable,Β screen protector, and a fast charger (80% faster than regular charger).
All three phones runs on Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread but will receive the Ice Cream Sandwich update once available within the 2nd quarter of this year. These phones, when purchased from authorized dealers, comes with a 1-year standard warranty.

Are you sure about the Xperia P having support via MicroSD card?
it doesn’t have microSD support sorry. got the wrong info from pdadb.net
Will the U be the only with the tangle-free flat cables(earphones)?
finally a decent phone with SD support, probably getting the sola once my current phone dies… or get stolen
also, I thought the P has no SD slot
you guys are right. i guess pdadb.net is incorrect. http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=3256&c=sony_xperia_p_lt22__lt22i_sony_nyphon
there’s also no microSD slot on the Xperia P
id like to have xperia p. π
ok sana ang xperia u with the 13.9k price but the downside is there is no microSD slot and only 4GB internal storage..
sir calvin i checked the specs of xperia u on gsmarena it only has 4GB internal storage not 8GB
thanks im going to make it clear na lang. listed sa sony mobile website is
Internal phone storage: 8GB (up to 4GB user-accessible memory)
http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/products/phones/xperia-u/specifications/
Also, I learn not to trust GSMarena a lot kasi i’ve seen their listed specs wrong a number of times na. thanks though!
ah i see.. that’s where i usually check re: mobile phones.. π thanks!
But I’ve heard that it supports USBOTG. In other words, storage isn’t a problem.
yees usb on the go is a great solution, meron din ba nun yung xperia s?
nvm nkita ko net meron nga
Sir gud day! ung xperia u po ba, sang lugar meron nung 13990? or pag dating nia tgla sa concept store pde mabago ung price nia. mas tumaas pa po? thanks and more power!

π prang xperia sola or lumia 710 n din.
i’d rather get the xperia u and the sola just because i’m more used to android. if you want you can check out nokia stores and experience the lumia and see if it’s something that you would like.
sabagay, kht aq android gmit q. thanks sir, hope na magkaroon din po kau review ng xperia sola. π thanks and more power!
im waiting for that too. i like sola. π
hi im a bit new using an android phone and im thinking to get a sony xperia sola or a samsung galaxy S advance..
i like the Samsung because of its android version they say that it will skip the ICS and jump in to a jelly bean..
while the xperia sola which i like most is the NFC feature but it seems that the android version ICS is not yet available for the phone.. both of it are almost the same price..
i just want to ask if i we’re you.. ? which phone would you choose.. ? base on the specs, features. i havent checked your blog if you have any reviews/info about the samsung but those 2 phones make me think which is better.. ?
thanks.. π
I have bought my Sony Xperia Sola last last week, and up until now, naa-amaze pa rin ako..go for it, promise! =)
I think these were about to expire however, which means you ought to do it today.
One other wonderful technique is searching on the web.
It is not practical to find families that don’t have an idea about this wonderful soft drink that works just like soda.
Thank you for these kinds of a great blog. Wherever else could 1 get this sort of information written in this sort of an incite full way? I have a presentation that I am just now working on, and I were seeking this kind of information.
