It looks like Sony’s wasting no time in bringing their latest phones in the country this year. We’ve recently reviewed the Sony Xperia S which will be made available mid-April and the rest will be unveiled in a couple of weeks.
However, Sony Mobile PH already announced the availability and pricing of three other NXT phones, the Xperia Sola, Xperia P, and the Xperia U for those who are wondering how much they would save to get these once available around mid-May.
Sony Xperia U – Php13,990
The most affordable of the bunch, the Xperia U appeals to the fun-loving stylish people out there with its interchangeable colored caps. This phone has a 3.5″ FWVGA screen with Mobile Bravia Engine for a sharper and more vibrant display. It’s powered by a dual-core 1GHz processor with 512MB RAM and 8GB storage (only 4GB accessible to user) but without any microSD slot. It has a 5-megapixel camera with the Exmor R sensor and can shoot 720p HD videos.
The Sony Xperia U will be available for Php13,990 which makes it a really affordable dual-core phone. It comes bundled with a set of earphones with tangle-free flat cables, a screen protector and an extra exchangeable colored cap.
Sony Xperia Sola – Php16,990
Next on the line is the Xperia Sola and it’s floating touch display. What it does is detect your finger even when it’s not touching the screen so that there’s less chance of hitting the wrong buttons and links which is helpful when navigating websites. It was also reported to work even on non-conductive fabric such as gloves.
The Xperia Sola is slightly bigger than the Xperia U with its 3.7″ FWGA display with Mobile Bravia Engine. It also has the same 1GHz dual-core (NovaThor U8500) processor as the Xperia U, same 8GB storage and 512MB RAM, and same 5-megapixel camera. However, the Xperia Sola has the benefits of a microSD slot.
Retail price of the Sony Xperia Sola is Php16,990 and it comes with 2 NFC Smart Tags, a screen protector, and a set of earphones.
Sony Xperia P – Php22,990
Placed at the mid to high range line of Sony smartphones is the Xperia P which has the WhiteMagic display technology that provides the brightest viewing experience wherever you are any time of the day. Along with the Bravia Reality Display, this beats other phones in getting the same sharp and vibrant image even under direct sunlight.
This device has a 4″ qHD display (540 x 960) and runs on the same dual-core 1GHz chip as the Xperia U and Xperia Sola. It does, however, come with 1GB RAM and 16GB storage but without microSD support. Its 8-megapixel camera can also shoot Full HD 1080p videos.
The Sony Xperia P will retail at Php22,990 come mid-May and will be bundled with 2 NFC Smart Tags, an HDMI cable, screen protector, and a fast charger (80% faster than regular charger).
All three phones runs on Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread but will receive the Ice Cream Sandwich update once available within the 2nd quarter of this year. These phones, when purchased from authorized dealers, comes with a 1-year standard warranty.
