Waze is a free GPS and navigation app available to Android and iOS users. What makes it different from others is that it gets better when more and more people use it. This smart crowdsource navigation app can detect traffic build-up on roads based on the speed of other Wazers and can suggest alternate routes for you.
Now to make it more appealing to a lot of smartphone users, Smart Communications and Sun Cellular announced their mobile data packages just for Waze. If you don’t plan to use Waze all the time, data rate for the app will just cost you Php2 for three hours which I think should be enough for your trip for the day.
To use Waze for three hours, simply text WAZE2 to 211. Other Waze packages are as follows:
- 24 hours ““ WAZE5 (Php5)
- 7 days ““ WAZE30 (Php30)
- 1 month ““ WAZE99 (Php99)
The challenge here would be to keep your data only for Waze use so you must remove apps that connect to the internet from the background if you don’t want to incur additional charges.
At the moment, these Waze packages are only available for Smart prepaid subscribers. Waze for Smart postpaid, Talk “˜n Text and Sun will soon be available within this month.
“œWe’ve really made our Waze data plans creatively wide ranging and affordable to let our subscribers choose the best fit and value for their requirements. We want Wazers to have easier access to the social navigation and crowdsourcing power of Waze. And with the reliable and strongest converged network of Smart and Sun, Wazers can be be assured of a better motoring experience, saving them time and money on every drive.” said Charles Lim, EVP and head of wireless consumer business for Smart and Sun.

Great’ but gps also allows you being monitor by robbers…
they won’t see you unless they’re on your buddy list.
Wala naman sigurong tanga na makikipag-buddy sa robbers di ba? Unless isa sa mga friends mo ay robbers… 😐
Agree…
